The city dweller's daily background is filled with strangers walking to work, sleeping on trains, site-seeing, etc. I explore the private drama of this public through the interplay of light and shadow, saturated colors and gestural line. To highlight the familiarity of this everyday dynamic, I reduce the environment and employ painterly abstractions.
